Boy Scouts pay a visit

Last night, we were blessed by an overnight visit of BSA troops 414 / 4140 from Pearland, TX, who spent the night in our parish hall while en route to Lake of the Ozarks Scout Reservation in Missouri for a week-long camp. The scouts and their leaders took a tour of our church facilities and enjoyed a supper of grilled hotdogs, hamburgers, and cake generously provided by one of the church ministries. Embodying the scout law "A scout is clean and a scout is reverent", they demonstrated remarkable respect for our house of worship, leaving it immaculate.

This heartwarming encounter reminds us that churches play a vital role in uplifting the broader community, whether through feeding the hungry, supporting the unhoused, or providing hospitality to visiting groups. By opening our doors, we not only glorify God but also foster a spirit of compassion and service that benefits people from all walks of life.
