Tuesday Evening Study Group
Tuesday, April 1 - Tuesday, May 13; 6:30 -8:30 PM -- Following up on our good experience this fall with a lecture series from The Teaching Company on early Christianities, this Spring the Tuesday Night Group will work through lectures on C. S. Lewis. Many of us have read Lewis' writings over the years from The Screwtape Letters to The Chronicles of Narnia to Mere Christianity. Lewis an English Professor at Oxford and Cambridge Universities and a self-described "very ordinary layman of the Church of England" has touched millions of readers, making him the most widely read Christian spokesman of our time. Through the course of the lectures we will cover Lewis's spiritual autobiography and other creative works, as well as his scholarly writings that reflect on pain and grief, love and friendship, prophecy and miracles, education and mythology. We will also read and discuss two of Lewis's shorter works, The Screwtape Letters and The Abolition of Man.
